An exciting opportunity has come up for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to take a principle design role within the engineering division focusing on rotating electrical machines.

My client is a rapidly expanding organization specializing in magnetic transmission systems, high-torque electrical machines and electromechanical actuators and dampers. Due to an ever increasing pipeline of work with multi million pound customers within renewable energy and energy efficiency, my client is looking for an engineer to take ownership of the following:

Skill and Responsibilities:
-Design of rotating electrical machines
-Being responsible for design activity from initial concept through to detailed drawings for -manufacture / test.
-FEA analysis and of low/medium volume production techniques
-Classic stress analysis techniques
-Candidate Requirements:
-Degree in mechanical engineering
-Relevant experience in engineering design of rotating components and assemblies, including bearing selection, mechanical loading analysis and material selection.
-Previous experience of being responsible for design activity from initial concept through to detailed drawings for manufacture / test
-Classic stress analysis techniques is also a requirement.
-Knowledge of FEA analysis and of low/medium volume production techniques would be a significant advantage.
-You should be highly competent in SolidWorks or a similar 3D CAD package.

The business urgently needs to bring on board a Senior Commercial Manager with significant experience within the highways maintenance sector ideally having been involved with HA MAC and Local Authority term maintenance highways contracts, this is because of a number of TFL bids of the verge of being awarded.

THE ROLE
* Ideal experience will be to have the ability to lead and manage client relationships at a senior level, especially dealing with claims and disputes if and when they arise.
* Support the bidding process including the negotiation of compliance with the company's procedures and favourable contract terms and conditions
* Focusing on Local Authority and Highways Agency work, you will have an excellent track record managing teams on contracts ranging between £35-50m per annum.
* Liaise with project support functions such as finance, supply chain, risk and ensure an all management of reporting, including all periodic reporting functions.
* Ensure that adequate records are maintained in respect of project issues and commercial management processes across highway maintenance teams.
* Supporting the Head of Commercial ensuring variances between planned budget expenditure and incurred costs are identified and appropriate action taken to minimise costs and liabilities to the business.

* Ensure insurance issues are managed in accordance with procedures.
* Lead and Manage a team of QS and other commercial team members.
